Q: How do I register for the teen classroom course?
A: Payment must be received by mail with a registration form to reserve a seat in class. Registration is done by mail only to ensure everything goes to the right place. Click here for a schedule & registration information.
Q: What times are the classes held?
A: All dates and times are on the registration form. If you are taking our course at your school instead of one of our locations, ask your school’s main office for dates, times, & room numbers.
We hold a variety of courses with different dates and times depending on the season, location, and a variety of other variables; please refer to the registration form of your desired class session.
Courses that are held at one of our two main classroom locations (found under the locations tab) typically start at 8:30AM & end at 4:30 PM.
Off-site locations include, but are not limited to: David Lipscomb High School, Father Ryan High School, Donelson Christian Academy, Montgomery Bell Academy, & Franklin Road Academy.
Q: What do students need to bring with them when attending the classroom?
A: Black pen, & non-spiral notebook. They should also bring a lunch or $5 for a provided lunch. (Pizza, Subs, etc.) Students cannot leave the grounds to get lunch unless their parent signs them out.
A black pen is required by the State of Tennessee for testing and certification purposes. Three ring binders are allowed, just no coil spring bound notebooks.
Students may leave for lunch with their parent only.
Q: How are the driving times arranged?
A: The students set up their own driving lessons when they come to class, so they should come knowing their calendar. Your student will be given a form to bring home showing their behind-the-wheel training schedule. This includes dates, times, and locations for pick-up.
Q: What does a student need after completing the course to pick up their permit/license?
A: A parent or guardian must be present for students under the age of 18; and...
Q: Why can’t I open the envelope that was given to my student for a permit/license?
A: If you break the seal or open the envelope the representatives at the Driver Testing Station will not accept the certificate inside.
If you have already opened the envelope call Brentwood Driver Training’s main office immediately and follow the prompts on how to get a replacement.
The representatives at the Driver Testing Centers are trained not to accept any certificates if the envelope is open, because they are affraid information on the certificate inside may have been altered.
Q: How do I get a replacement 3rd party certificate for a permit/license?
A: The only way to get a replacement 3rd party certificate is to call the office and arrange a time for your student to come in so another certificate may be issued. In order to get a replacement 3rd party certificate the student must be present; we cannot send it to you.
Replacement 3rd party certificates may only be issued out of our Brentwood office. Visit our locations page for a map and directions.
To ensure a BDT representative will be available to help you, please call (615) 373-5634 beforehand and follow the prompts to set up an appointment.
Q: How do I get a replacement insurance certificate?
A: Mail in a request form and a $10 check or money order. These requests are handled by mail only.
Mailing address:
Brentwood Driver Training
P.O. Box 922
Brentwood, TN 37024
Please write your students full name, address, phone number and location at which they took the course, and approximately when they took the course. Also include a return mailing address or fax number. If your printer is not working you may simply fill in the information on another piece of paper and send it along with the fee instead.
The $10 fee is in place because we are not making a copy of your student’s certificate; we are actually re-issuing it entirely with new license numbers from the state. Please, feel free to leave your insurance agents name and fax if it is more convenient to you and we will send it directly to them.
